UkeMaster 2.0

UkeMaster for the iPhone is a mobile application that extends Sheep-Entertainment's popular Ukulele Chord Finder website, known since 1998.

The app allows users to customize their tuning preferences, including D-tuning, C-tuning, baritone, and more. It also features a convenient pitch-pipe for tuning your ukulele.

UkeMaster provides access to over 40 different chord types, catering to both basic and advanced players. It distinguishes between these levels by color-coding the chords for easy identification.

Users can explore various chord positions on the fretboard by clicking on a chord shape image. The app displays the basic fingering initially and offers higher-position fingerings upon clicking.

Moreover, UkeMaster illustrates the finger positions for each chord, aiding users in understanding chord construction and intervals relative to the root note. Users can navigate through different versions of a chord, such as Cm7b5 and D#m6, to grasp their structures and root notes.

Additionally, the app allows users to discover chord names by selecting positions on the fretboard, helping them recognize chord relationships. It also enables users to experiment with different chord variations like C7#5 by interacting with the fretboard interface.

To listen to how a chord sounds, users can simply strum over the ukulele's soundhole within the app.

UkeMaster accommodates three orientation modes for user convenience: portrait mode for sheet music-style display and landscape modes simulating personal or mirrored ukulele views.

For chords containing more than four notes, common on the ukulele's limited four strings, UkeMaster intelligently omits certain notes like the 5th or even the root in specific contexts where other instruments may cover those tones without compromising the overall sound quality.
